Dear Seniors,

The book you now hold in your hands is more than just a scrapbook filled with photos and
happy memories from your time here at Eastern Nazarene. It is both a chronicle of some of the
most important, formative years of your hfe and a testament to the long hours of study and hard
work you have invested in your education.

Soon you will leave the ENG cam.pus and enter a world that at times can seem tumultuous,
strife-torn and even frightening. Despite the tremendous advances achieved in science, medicine
and knowledge, it is a world in which people of different races, creeds and ideologies often fall
back on age-old patterns of enmity, mistrust and violence. But it is also a world of great hope and
great joy; a world into which each year, bright, committed, idealistic young people like you venture
forth, armed with the love of God and a desire to share His word.

There may be times when your faith and commitment will be tested. You may question your
abilities, your career prospects, and even your faith. And though you may not believe it now, there
may even be times when you yearn to be back at ENG, cramming for finals in the library, cheering
on our Lions or just hanging out with friends in the arboretum. Having come to know so many of
you during the past four years, however, I am confident that your time here has well prepared you
for the challenges you will face.

Believe in yourself and trust in the path that God has set before you. "Don't let anyone
think less of you because you are young," 1 Timothy 4:12 tells us. "Be an example to all believers
in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith and your purity."

As you flip through these pages, I hope you'll take a moment to fondly reflect on your time
here at Eastern Nazarene. I also hope that, many years from now, you'll occasionally pull out
this yearbook and remember the students, faculty and staff who make ENG such a loving, caring
Ghristian community dedicated to preparing the next generation of Ghristian leaders. For as you
prepare to make the transition from ENG student to ENG alumnus, please know that whatever path
you follow, the love, prayers and support of the entire ENG community go with you.

Blessings,
President Gorlis McGee

Glass of 2010,

We did it! Congratulations! These past years have gone by so fast, but it seems that our journey is only just
beginning. Our class has every reason to be proud of this accomplishment.

I am very proud to be one of your classmates. We exemplify young adults who will provide leadership and ambi-
tion beyond the walls of ENG. These examples have been expressed through our academics, relationships with our
friends and professors, being able to provide encouragement, and in ministry roles. It also has been seen in our
athletics and involvement in campus organizations.

ENC has provided us with a proper foundation to thrive in anything that comes our way. Our memories for the past
years are all surrounded by the support and comfort of ENC. Never forget the foundation, the memories, or the
journey that we are on. It really is all just beginning: the exploration and adventures of life. I hope you continue
to keep your trust in God; He knows what we need. I pray that wherever life takes you, you have a life filled with

passion.

Congratulations Senior Glass!
I am truly going to miss you guys,

Class of i^Oll,

It's amazing how fast time flies! I remember freshman year, when we all arrived at ENC, like it was yester-
day. Since then, the friendships we have made have grown stronger and developed into relationships that will last a
lifetime. Our education here is coming along too! We are no longer the undecided majors that were unsure of God's
plans; now we are the upperclassmen that know God has a plan for each of us and we are daily seeking His wisdom
and discretion to make that plan a reality. For that, I am so proud of all of you! It has been an honor serving our
class.

So here's to our achievements so far and for all that is to come in the short time we have left. Next year
will be our last together and though some of us are more than ready for graduation, 1 know some of us just wish we
could hold on a little longer. This is my message to you all: enjoy the time you have left here while it lasts! Junior
year has been a year of growth, strengthening, and lots of work for us all, but we pulled through once again!
So do not be discouraged Glass of '11, continue to work hard and keep your eye on the goal!

Love and Blessings,

Sarah M. Dutra

lle'iij ieilow classemates!

Wo Ho! We're offically upperclassmen! We've been able to survive the lice epidemic, the fall
of J-term, and SWINE FLU! I wish you all the best of luck in the next two years of your college
career. I hope that in these past two years you've not only made great friends but have had great
experiences. I can only think of one honest piece of advice that I'd like to give you, and that is to
take every opportunity that you are given. If you see a part in a play that your interested in, try
out. If you want to play on a sports team, do it. If you feel called to missions, listen. Do everything
in your life that comes into your path. I want you all to look back on your life, when you're older,
and say "Yeah, I lived my hfe to the fullest."

Live it up,

Kaitlyn Jo Yoder
Sophomore Class President

Dear Freshman class,

It has been great representing the Class of 2013! 1 never planned on being the Class Presi-
dent, but some of you convinced me otherwise with the promise of free food. Yes, the food has been
quite tasty, but in all seriousness, I am thankful that I can represent the Freshman class here at
ENG. It has been an honor, and I pray that God blesses your futures, whether it be continuing your
education here at ENC, or elsewhere.

You guys and girls have been great!

To the Graduating Seniors,

A few years ago at a small coffee shop in rural Kentucky, I saw a photograph
on the wall that 1 found fascinating. A copy of it is now in my office.

It is a photograph of train tracks going through the mountains of Kentucky.
The tracks are going around a bend in the mountain. There is a thick mist ahead.
It is rather dark in the early morning hours and what is around the curve ahead is
unknown to the viewer. The picture, to me, is incredibly thriUing.

I am reminded of this picture as you graduate. There is a bend ahead, you're
not sure what's out there or what's around the corner. There is a heavy fog so you
cannot see clearly. You only know that the tracks are leading forward. The tracks
will guide you if you will just trust them.

As you leave ENC, my prayer for each of you is that you will trust in the Lord
Jesus Christ and allow Him to guide you in all areas of hfe. I know the concerns you
have-1 once had them too. And I've learned that life can be an exciting journey in
which you can rest assured that God will guide you, if you but trust Him.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don 't try to Sgure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he 's the one who wiiil^eep you on tracA.
(Proverbs 3:6 The MessageJ

Grace and peace to you, my friends, as you move on in your journey and
around the next bend. Please know that we at ENC are all very proud of you and
look forward to the days when our tracks cross again (not in a train wreck kind of
crossing but in nice meeting... like you see on Thomas and Friends ).

It has been my privilege to serve you as Chaplain and I will miss you.

Your servant,
Corey

Meghan Jean-Noel (04)

Director of Alumni Relations

The Alumni Association

Janelle Beiler (93)

Alumni Council President

Eastern Nazarene College

www.enc.edu • 1-800-RING-ENC • alumni@enc.edu

I am honored to share that the class of 2010 would like to dedicate our yearbook to Dr. Corey
MacPherson. Many people know his voice from chapel, but more importantly our student body knows
his heart. From early mornings to late nights, Corey tirelessly works to make the spiritual life on
campus vibrant, challenging and welcoming. Since becoming chaplain in 2008, he has guided the
student body through several difficult conversations including sexuality, social justice, and science-
and-religion. And he is just getting started.

Corey recognizes that students need a place to dialogue about challenging issues, and he does
not shy away from relevant topics. At the same time, students can count on Corey to bring a sense
of humor to chapel and other campus activities. Corey and his family can be found cheering on the
Lions, worshipping with the Gospel Choir and A Cappella Choir, and inviting students to home cooked
meals. The senior class is proud to dedicate the 2010 Nautilus to our chaplain, mentor and friend.

Corey graduated from ENC in 1996 and Nazarene Theological Seminary in 2000. He is mar-
ried to Edie MacPherson and they have two children. In 2009, he received a doctorate of ministry
from Asbury Theological Seminary and he recently became ENC's vice president of spiritual develop-
ment and church relations.

John Quincy Adams once said, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do
more and become more, you are a leader." After working for the past two years with Corey, I can hon-
estly say his hard work and dedication to the ENC community is inspiring.

Corey, thank you for sharing your heart and vision.

Blessings,

Carissa Schutz

and the Class of 2010
